The Germeringer association “Aktion Brücke” receives an award from the “Too good for the bin” project, which the Ministry of Food and Agriculture launched in 2016. The Federal Prize is awarded annually to several outstanding projects that reduce food waste through their activities. In Germering, the members of the association, which is only two years old, meet regularly to cook warm meals from rescued and donated food. The volunteers distribute these to needy and homeless people in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck. The prize is endowed with 5000 euros.
