Gaël Perdriau’s ex-chief of staff released after three weeks in detention

The former chief of staff of the mayor of Saint-Etienne, Pierre Gauttieri, indicted in a sextape case then imprisoned in mid-June for “non-compliance with his judicial control” was released on Tuesday by decision of the Chamber of the instruction of the Court of Appeal of Lyon.

Arrested and taken to the Lyon-Corbas remand center for not having paid the bail set after his indictment on time (30,000 euros to be paid before May 5 and 50,000 euros before November 30), he is released from custody on Tuesday. The reason ? “It has not been demonstrated that he intended to avoid bail,” replied the prosecution. His lawyer argued that he had “taken concrete steps to sell two properties which he co-owns with his wife”, said a judicial source.

Pierre Gauttieri nevertheless remains under judicial supervision and is prohibited from contacting the other protagonists in the case, including Gaël Perdriau.

The affair broke out at the end of August 2022 when Gilles Rossary-Lenglet revealed to Mediapart the existence of an intimate video shot in January 2015 in which we can see the centrist Gilles Artigues, political rival of Gaël Perdriau, being massaged by a man in a hotel room in Paris.

This 50-year-old claimed in his confession to have participated in this “daub of morals” at the request of the mayor and his entourage, with the aim of politically neutralizing the centrist elected official.
