The government is raising its voice in an attempt to respond to recent episodes of violence between young people, some of which have been fatal. Questioned about these brawls during questions to the government by Marine Le Pen on Tuesday, Gabriel Attal promised “extremely strong” measures, without specifying their nature.
Strengthening resources
“We have greatly strengthened our resources and we will continue to do so. We are going to present extremely clear, extremely strong measures in the coming weeks,” the Prime Minister affirmed, without further details, before the National Assembly.
“For this start, we will continue to act, act everywhere, act in the streets, act in the classrooms, act in families for security, order and respect for authority in our country,” he said. -he continued.
Sanctions at school
“There will never be in our country the right to beat up, the right to hit, the right to attack a boy because he loves a young girl, the right to attack a young girl because she does not espouse the same convictions, including religious ones. Yes, we need this start in our society”, insisted Gabriel Attal, invoking the “need (…) for a form of societal recovery”.
The head of government wanted in particular to “go further in the scale of sanctions at school, in the face of violence which begins much younger” following a slogan that he has already developed: “you break you repair, you dirty you clean, you challenge authority we teach you to respect it.
