Further training for caring relatives: Aging with pleasure

Staying mentally and physically fit with a well-balanced feel-good kitchen is the subject of a training course for caring relatives, which is organized by the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Alzheimer’s Society with funding from the GKV Alliance for Health. A healthy diet, community, and exercise protect against disease, says Dr. Sibylle Schreckling, chairwoman of the Alzheimer’s Society in the Rhein-Erft district.

With age, the body changes, appetite and thirst decrease. Illnesses, loneliness and lack of a voice are literally upsetting, which increasingly impairs the quality of life of older people. While muscle and bone mass and the proportion of water decrease, the proportion of body fat increases. The body needs less energy, but more healthy nutrients. Many seniors also drink too little, which can often lead to headaches, dizziness, circulatory problems, dizziness and confusion and increases the risk of falling.

The Alzheimer’s Society course will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the family office “Mittendrin”, Bonnstr. 32, 50354 Hürth. Speakers are Dr. Sibylle Schreckling, chairwoman of the Alzheimer’s Society, with an introduction and professional support, as well as ecotrophologist Sabine Lacour. Participation is free of charge, care for sick relatives is possible. Registration is requested by e-mail to [email protected] or by telephone on 0157 50671667, group for each other, Ms. Prcyclek.
