Frederic Laloux on the meaning of work – economy

Interviewed by

Kathrin Werner and Hannah Wilhelm

Frédéric Laloux sits in a lemon-yellow lawn chair in front of his home in upstate New York, where he lives on an eco-community. Then it starts to rain, he goes inside with his laptop and the online interview, flirting briefly with his child on the way. That’s how it is when work and private life mix. The 48-year-old Belgian likes that, he is one of the world’s most important pioneers of a new world of work in which work is freer and companies are more democratic. His 2014 book Reinventing Organizations is a bestseller, a bible of sorts for the New Work movement.
