Four in a row for Rennes! – Dbrief and NOTES of the players (SCO 1-2 SRFC) – Football

At the end of additional time, Rennes snatched a valuable victory over Angers (1-2), this Sunday, during the 12th day of Ligue 1. from Marseille.

Gouiri opened the Angers brand.

Rennes almost lost feathers. Shaken, the Breton club managed to record a fourth consecutive success in Ligue 1 on the ground of Angers (1-2), this Sunday, during the 12th day.

Dominating but ineffective, the Rouge et Noir made the difference with a penalty from Lovro Majer in added time to take 4th place, two points off the podium.

Rennes’ class goal

Unsurprisingly, the Rennais quickly took the game on their own. Faced with an Angevin block positioned very low, the visitors tried to pass by the sides to make the difference. Following a good cross from Traor, Gouiri forced Bernardoni to make a fine save. The SCO goalkeeper, very concentrated, once again pulled out all the stops with a free kick from Bourigeaud.

Gns in duels, the Rennais showed worthy of annoyance against the Angevins who did not offer much. Terrier, discreet so far, had the opportunity to open the scoring but his volley lacked power. Before the break, it was finally Gouiri who shook the nets by deceiving Bernardoni after a classy collective action (0-1, 44th).

Rennes almost let the three points slip away

Upon returning from the locker room, a heavy rain was coming. And the flood for Rennes. On a counter clear, Salama came up against Mandanda whom he deceived with a flat foot between his legs (1-1, 53rd). Everything had to be redone for the SRFC who had more difficulty getting their foot on the ball. To try to regain the advantage, the Bretons relied on corners and on one of them, Traor made Bernardoni shine.

In the last quarter of an hour, the two teams tried everything for everything. Still on a corner, Theate missed the target while Hunou did not have the necessary lucidity to adjust his header on a cross from El Melali. As we headed for a draw, Amadou did the irreparable by mowing down Abline in the area, allowing Majer to score the winning goal from the penalty spot (1-2, 90th + 3).

Match score: 5/10

An average game. The first period was quite difficult to follow despite a very classy goal from Gouiri. It was a little better after the break with a slightly sharper SCO formation to upset Rennes. Finally, the team that tried the most was rewarded.

The goals :

– Theate relies on Terrier, who backs up for Tait. The midfielder returns the ball to the Terrier, who makes another back pass for Bourigeaud. Number 14 from Rennes, on a touch, gives the ball again Terrier, who this time lets the ball pass between his legs, allowing Gouiri, at the entrance to the surface, to place a curled strike low to the perfect ground on the left from Bernardoni (0-1, 44th).

– Following an ill-timed pass from Terrier, Hunou recovers the ball in the middle of his camp. The former Rennais sends a beautiful deep for Salama who takes advantage of the misalignment of Wooh to spin alone to the goal. Facing Mandanda, the Angevin striker does not hesitate to deceive the Rennes goalkeeper with a flat foot low to the ground between the legs (1-1, 53rd).

– On a long clearance from Mandanda, Abline escapes Amadou’s vigilance. The Rennes striker infiltrates the area and is mowed down by the Angevin defender. Majer does not tremble and places a mid-high shot on the right of Bernardoni to offer the Rennes victory (1-2, 90 + 3).

Players’ NOTES

Maxifoot has assigned a score (out of 10) comments on each player.

Man of the match: Hamari Traor (7/10)

A good game from the Breton captain. Solid in his lane, he brought danger several times on his breakthroughs in the first period with two golden balls for Gouiri and Terrier. He is close to scoring with a header from a corner after the break.

ANGERS :

Paul Bernardoni (6.5): the Angevin goalkeeper has nothing to reproach himself for. He made several important saves against Gouiri and Bourigeaud in the first period and against Traor after the break.

Yan Valery (6): aggressive on the ball carrier, the Tunisian international made an interesting copy. He was active in the right lane with several sharp climbs. Replace the 86th minute with Sada Thioub (not not).

Cdric Hountondji (6): the central defender passed by Clermont contained the Rennes attackers well, who were forced to pick up to touch the ball. A satisfying part.

Ibrahim Amadou (5): the former Lille resident gave of himself. Tough on the man, the Angevin central defender multiplied his interventions, especially in front of Bourigeaud, Dou and Sulemana, to lend a hand to Bernardoni. Unfortunately for him, he lost his means on the last action by conceding a largely avoidable penalty. An error that weighs down his match and that of his team.

Batista Mendy (5): the Angevin suffered on the mounts of Traor. He left holes that Rennes haven’t exploited enough.

Pierrick Capelle (5.5): a timid first period with little activity, better on returning from the locker room with more authoritarian outbursts. He just lacked precision in his crosses.

Adrien Hunou (5.5): in a more remote position, the Rennes-trained striker was not very dangerous. However, it is his fine through pass that allows Salama to go alone on goal to deceive Mandanda.

Nabil Bentaleb (6): the Algerian midfielder played his game by blocking the Rennes climbs well in his area. Serious in the duels, he has the midfield in the second period.

Azzedine Ounahi (5.5): a rather interesting match in the retention of the ball for the Moroccan attacking midfielder. Nevertheless, he weighed relatively little offensively in this part where his team suffered a lot.

Amine Salama (6): the Angevin striker did not need a thousand cartridges to make the powder speak. On a light counter after a magnificent call from deep, he equalized to allow his team to believe it. It’s not far from a double on an ill-adjusted head. Replace the 69th minute with Abdallah Sima (not not).

Sofiane Boufal (5): like Ounahi, the Moroccan attacking midfielder was good in talking about the ball. Only he was never dangerous, sometimes taking too long to decide to pass or shoot. Replace the 86th minute with Farid El Melali (not not).

REINDEER :

Steve Mandanda (6): the Rennes goalkeeper had little work to do. Abandoned by his defense on Salama’s goal, he distinguished himself with a superb clearance for Abline on the action of the winning penalty.

Hamari Traor (7): read comment above.

Christopher Wooh (5): Rodon suspended, the central defender from Lens still had the opportunity to show himself. Unfortunately for him, he is very misaligned with the action of Salama’s goal, leaving the Angevin in play. An error which costs the equalizer.

Arthur Theate (5.5): offensively, the Belgian was dangerous with two great opportunities from a corner in the second half. On the other hand, he lets Salama go behind his back on the equalizing goal. A failure that almost cost dearly.

Adrien Truffert (5): average. The left side brought little despite a very low positioned Angevin block. We expect much better from him. Replace 77th minute with Birger Meling (non not).

Benjamin Bourigeaud (6): close to scoring from a free kick, the attacking midfielder is a decisive passer on the achievement of Gouiri. A rather clean copy from him. Replace the 69th minute with Lovro Majer (not not)author of the winning goal from the penalty spot.

Xeka (5): the Portuguese midfielder lacked accuracy in his passes. The former Lille resident was often erased too easily by the technical circles of the SCO.

Flavien Tait (6): against his former club, the Rennais was interesting. He made the game more fluid, like his vertical pass on the action of Gouiri’s goal. He answered present in the physical combat.

Martin Terrier (5): discreet in the first period, he stands out with two back passes and a sumptuous body feint on the action of Gouiri’s goal. His performance is marred by his loss of the ball on the Angevin goal. Replace 77th minute with Kamaldeen Sulemana (not not).

Amine Gouiri (6): after a first duel lost against Bernardoni, the Lyon trained striker opened the scoring by concluding an extraordinary collective action. He was the most dangerous offensive player from Rennes in this match. Replace the 69th minute with Desir Dou (not rated).

Arnaud Kalimuendo (4): the former Parisian has confirmed his current difficulties. Too erased, the Breton striker never managed to put himself in evidence. He will have to recover quickly so as not to doubt. Replace the 86th minute with Matthis Abline (not not)who gets the decisive penalty at the end of the match.
