FO calls for a strike in the metros

While Marseille taxis have already launched a call to block the city this Saturday, in protest against plans to flat rate some of their journeys, metro drivers are now called to strike.

In a Facebook post spotted by Provence, the FO union, the majority among metro drivers, announces that it will maintain its strike notice for this Saturday. They are demanding “a bonus worthy of and commensurate with” the events taking place these days in Marseille: the Rugby World Cup, the visit of Pope Francis and the international fair at Chanot Park. The amount requested is 60 euros gross per session. It was obviously the statement made this Thursday by the director of the RTM in CSE which ignited the powder. According to the union, it would have promised to grant the bonus “if everything goes well”.
