Five people, including three children, die in a fire in London

A decimated family. A fire broke out at a house in west London on Sunday evening. Five people apparently belonging to the same family, including three children, were killed, police and firefighters announced Monday. Emergency services were called to a house in the Hounslow area on Sunday evening around 10:30 p.m.

The bodies of five people were discovered inside on the first floor. A sixth person had left the house before help arrived, and a seventh is missing.

The causes still unknown

While many fireworks were set off that evening for the Hindu festival of Diwali, the police assured that it was too early to determine the cause of the disaster.

The fire destroyed the ground floor and first floor of the house, before being brought under control around 1:25 a.m. London Fire Brigade chief Andy Roe said on Monday that ten trucks and around 70 firefighters had been sent to the property, a medium-sized terraced house.
