Get in, buckle up and – stop – for heaven’s sake don’t just drive off. Anyone who stomps on the pedal using gross motor skills on the new Porsche Taycan experiences or suffers a kind of catapult launch. After just 2.7 seconds, the Taycan Turbo passes the 100 km/h mark with the spoiler in place and a high-frequency metallic whirring noise. It feels like an explosion, is half a second faster than its predecessor and, thanks to 884 (instead of 680) hp, is quiet and completely calm. Which probably can’t be said about most drivers behind this wheel.
