After 52 years, the Eagles want to say goodbye. The popular US band has announced a final tour.
There should be a whole series of concerts, but after that it’s over. The Eagles, known among other things for their world hit “Hotel California” have announced their farewell tour. Under the motto “The Long Goodbye”, the rock band will complete an as yet unknown number of final appearances.
Eagles had a longer than expected career
Despite tragic losses and setbacks, the Eagles have had an amazing 52-year odyssey of concerts around the world, it says in an announcement of the farewell tour. “We know how lucky we are and we are truly grateful,” the band wrote on their website. “Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us could ever have dreamed of.” But everything has its time and now the time has come to close the circle.
The official farewell tour is currently still in the planning phase, the band initially announced the first 13 dates of the tour in North America. However, they want to give all fans the opportunity to experience the group live again. It should start on September 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York. According to a report by the US industry magazine “Variety”, it is expectedthat the band will be on tour at least until 2025. You want “so many shows in every market [spielen]”as the audience demands”.
Joining the cast will be founding member Don Henley (75), Joe Walsh (75), Timothy B. Schmit (75), Vince Gill (66) and Deacon Frey, son of the late co-founder Glenn Frey (1948-2016). Steely Dan will accompany the Eagles on the tour.
