Firefighters discover a body in a trunk, a person in police custody

Macabre discovery in Moselle. A body, unidentified at this stage, was found in a trunk after an intervention by firefighters in a house in Gondrexange, the Metz public prosecutor said on Thursday.

One person has been in police custody since late Thursday morning. A preliminary investigation into the murder charge is currently being carried out and entrusted to the Metz research section. Forensic examinations will take place in Nancy, where the body was transported.

The house where this trunk was discovered is located in the heart of this Moselle village of barely 500 inhabitants, in a small street not far from the church. In the middle of the day, a dog team and criminal identification went to the pavilion, which was new and showed no signs of the fire on the outside.
