Böhmermann and Schulz collect more than 700,000 euros with a fundraiser
“Fest & Flauschig” has not only been one of the most popular podcasts in Germany for years, it also has a friendly tradition: at the end of the year, the hosts Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz collect donations for a good cause. This time more than 700,000 euros were raised.
Normally, Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz are on the go on TV, but their podcast “Fest & Flauschig” is at least as well known to their fans – and they even wrote media history: In 2016, the podcast was launched as the first exclusive production by Spotify worldwide , the contract with the two podcast stars was recently extended until 2025.
How much money they earn with the exclusive deal is unknown – in the USA stars with exclusive contracts earn several million dollars – but one thing is clear: With “Fest & Flauschig” Böhmermann and Schulz not only make a lot of money, they give it willingly also to good causes.
“Festive & festive – Christmas with Jan and Olli”
At the weekend, their fundraising campaign, which has now become a tradition, started under the name “Fest & Festlich – Weihnachts mit Jan und Olli” in support of several charity organizations – and it was once again impressive: on the one hand, Böhmermann and Schulz were surprised with videos from their early days and Katrin Bauerfeind and Marius Müller-Westernhagen as guests of honor.
On the other hand, the donation amount of the campaign is impressive: During the weekend, more than 720,000 euros were collected through “Fest & Flauschig” for the German Cancer Aid, Quarteera, women’s shelter coordination, the German Animal Welfare Association and the Lebenshilfe – significantly more than a year ago, when At the end of the stream, 600,000 euros were booked.
The two now have another milestone ahead of them: In total, more than 1.3 million euros came together last year. Böhmermann, Schulz and their fans have until January 11th to beat this sum.
