A week ago, the former secretary in the Stutthof concentration camp was sentenced to a two-year suspended prison sentence. An appeal has now been filed.

A week after the verdict in the so-called Stutthof trial, the defendants’ defense and a representative of the accessory prosecutor filed an appeal. “The judgment is therefore not final,” said the Itzehoe district court on Wednesday. The judgment goes to the Federal Court of Justice (BGH). If the latter allows the appeal, it will first be checked for legal errors. The case against Irmgard F. only has to be reopened if such are actually found.

The 97-year-old had been sentenced to a youth sentence of two years on probation for being an accessory to murder in more than 10,000 cases and an accessory to attempted murder in five cases.
