Father dies in collision with hearse

Saturday, in the middle of the afternoon, a serious traffic accident occurred on national road 42, between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Saint-Omer, in Pas-de-Calais. The report shows one dead and four injured, including two children.

The accident involved an SUV, occupied by a couple in their thirties and their two children, which collided with a funeral van, driven by a 63-year-old man. According to France 3the 36-year-old father, who was at the wheel of the family vehicle, died on the spot.

His wife and two children, aged 3 years and 16 months, were taken care of by emergency services and hospitalized at Lille University Hospital. The oldest child and the driver’s wife were in absolute emergency.

For his part, the driver of the hearse was also hospitalized in Lille in a condition considered serious. The condition of his vehicle after the impact also required that he be extricated.
