From the monster horror “King Kong” to “Tootsie” to the drama “Blue Sky” – actress Jessica Lange has an enormous range. In addition to many prices, there is another one – in Munich.

The US actress and Oscar winner Jessica Lange (“Tootsie”) will be honored with the CineMerit Award at the Munich Film Festival for her contributions to film art. The festival announced that she would also present a selection of personal photographic works in an exhibition at the German Theater Museum.

The 75-year-old looks back on an eventful career. In 1976 she started in the giant paws of “King Kong”. Famous films such as “Tootsie”, “Frances”, “Blue Sky” and “Marlowe” and the TV series “American Horror Story” followed later. The reward: Many awards, including two Oscars as well as awards at the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. Lange recently premiered on Broadway in the play “Mother Play” and was subsequently nominated for a Tony Award, which is given in the USA for theater and musicals.

“Jessica Lange is a wonderful fit for us. She has been reinventing herself as an actress again and again for many decades,” said festival director Christoph Gröner. One can be particularly excited about the photographs that will be shown at the Theatermuseum in Munich from July 1st to September 8th. The film festival announced that the focus would be on images that were taken during the Corona lockdown in New York City.
