As a grinning girl, she became known to millions of people. Now there is sad news about Kailia Posey.
Kailia Posey unwittingly became a meme after appearing on US show Toddlers & Tiaras. At the age of five, she and her family took part in the show that follows American families as they prepare for beauty pageants.
Kailia Posey grinned mischievously for the camera during the shoot and became famous for the likeable facial expression. Now the young woman died at the age of 16, as her family confirmed to “BNO News”. She celebrated her 16th birthday just a few weeks ago.
Her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, writes on Facebook that her daughter’s death came “like out of nowhere”. “I can’t find the words. A beautiful woman has died,” says Gattermann. Since the bad news, she has reminded her of her daughter, who died young, with several photos.
Posey had continued to pursue a career in media until recently. She has appeared on and off television for the past few years, playing the role of Agnes in the 2018 Netflix film Eli.
She was also active in beauty pageants. At the “Miss Teen USA” beauty pageant she celebrated a great success this year: Posey took second place in the “Most Beautiful Teenage Girl in the United States” competition. On Instagram, she repeatedly posted winnings from her participation in beauty competitions and let her followers share in her life.
It is still unclear why Posey had to die so young. Initially, reports spoke of a car accident. According to BNO News, Posey took his own life.
