The verdict is far from over for Rupert Stadler and his co-defendants. In the Audi process, the former boss of the car manufacturer and his two former colleagues have appealed against the judgment made just last week, as the court announced on Tuesday. And the public prosecutor’s office, at least in the case of Wolfgang Hatz, does not want to be satisfied with the judge’s verdict. Like Stadler and the then Audi engineer Giovanni P., the former head of engine development and later a member of the Porsche board of directors was sentenced to a suspended sentence plus a fine, but the prosecution had called for jail for him.
