Since listed companies have had to appoint women to the board of directors, the engine manufacturer Deutz has been arguing about when and how. The image is suffering, frustration is increasing – warns a man from the management floor.

It all started with the goal that gender diversity should finally be reflected in the management floors of local corporations: since last summer, a law has stipulated that listed and co-determined companies with more than three board members must appoint a woman to the board at the earliest opportunity – if not already done. The new quota affects dozens of large companies in Germany, and a transitional period applies until this summer.
