They have been divorced for almost ten years, but Cora Schumacher is holding on to one detail of her marriage. That doesn’t suit Ralf Schumacher at all, as she now revealed.
They were once considered racing’s dream couple, but after their separation in 2009, Ralf and Cora Schumacher fought a bitter war of the roses. Their marriage finally ended in divorce in 2015. Several reconciliations have followed in recent years – but there is now radio silence again, as the 47-year-old recently revealed.
The relationship between the two, who have a son together, has now come back into the public eye. Because Cora Schumacher is a candidate for this year’s jungle camp season. On Friday she went to the Australian bush with eleven other celebrities – and not only opened up about her current affair with Oliver Pocher, but also revealed an explosive detail about her ex.
“I’ll keep the name”
The 47-year-old revealed that Michael Schumacher’s brother “offered her a nice sum” after the separation so that she would give up his last name, but made it clear straight away: “I’ll keep the name. I’ll use it now until the next one me married away.”
What does Ralf Schumacher think of this revelation? In any case, the former racing driver will closely monitor his ex’s appearance in the jungle camp, as he revealed before she moved in. In the past few years he never really followed the show, but that’s changing this time. “I’m already planning, logically, to look at it. That’s clear. I want to see for myself what’s happening,” said the 48-year-old to RTL.
At this point, the Formula 1 star was still positive about his ex-wife’s participation. “I’m happy for Cora. She’s a strong woman. She always wanted to do this,” he said at the time. It is questionable whether he will still feel the same way after the season.
