Ina Müller once again announces the points awarded by the German jury at the ESC. She had already handed out the famous “twelve points” once.

For the second time, the official “spokesperson” of the German jury at the ESC final is called Ina Müller. The 58-year-old talker, singer and author is once again announcing after 2011 who will receive the famous “twelve points” from Germany. On Saturday, May 11th, from 9 p.m., Das Erste, the ARD Mediathek, eurovision.de and the ARD Audiothek will broadcast the final from Malmö, Sweden. Following the performances of the 26 participating countries, the Hamburg resident will report from an NDR studio in Hamburg-Lokstedt with the points being awarded. Germany is represented in the show by ISAAK with his song “Always on the run”.

German points announced in 2011

Müller is almost predestined for the job of official spokesperson for the German ESC jury. As a singer, she performs in front of sold-out houses. As a talker she has achieved cult status with “Inas Night”. The popular entertainer herself calls the highlight compilations of her cult talk “Best of Singing & Sabbling”. It seems only logical that Müller is given the honorable task of jury spokesperson for the second time. In 2010, Lena Meyer-Landrut (32) took victory with “Satellite” in Oslo and the ESC to Germany. At the ESC 2011 in Düsseldorf, Ina Müller was switched to the then ESC presenter Anke Engelke (58) to announce the German points.

Predecessors Schöneberger and Elton

In recent years, it was primarily Barbara Schöneberger (50) who was responsible for announcing the jury points from Hamburg. She was spokesperson for the German expert commission a total of seven times, from 2015 to 2022. After presenter Elton (53) last year, Ina Müller can now look forward to her appearance in front of around 150 million ESC fans worldwide.

Barbara Schöneberger is once again moderating the supporting program for the ESC finale this year. She presents the shows “ESC – the Countdown” and “ESC – the Aftershow” live from Malmö. By the way: The composition of the German ESC jury remains secret until the final evening. Only then does the NDR announce in whose name Ina Müller distributes the German points and says the famous sentence: “Twelve points of the Germany jury go to…”
