Energy supply: This is how Germany gets through the winter – Economy

The gas storage facilities are full to capacity, the weather is still mild, and unlike 2022, Germany is well prepared for the winter. Wonder what comes next.

It has become a new routine to ask one question by November at the latest: Is it enough? Is there enough natural gas to keep homes warm in winter? Are the gas storage tanks sufficiently filled to be able to deliver even if it remains very cold for a long time? The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in spring 2022 has not changed one thing: the majority of German households still heat with natural gas. Without fossil fuels, nothing works in this country. So: is it enough?
