Emmanuel Macron deplores “the unbearable resurgence of unbridled anti-Semitism”

Emmanuel Macron deplored “the unbearable resurgence of unbridled anti-Semitism” and judged that “a France where our Jewish fellow citizens are afraid is not France”, in a letter published this Saturday evening in The Parisian on the eve of the march against anti-Semitism.

“Whether it is religious, social, identity-based or racial, anti-Semitism is always as Émile Zola presented it: odious,” wrote the President of the Republic on the eve of a “great civic march” which, according to him, must show a France “united behind its values, its universalism”.

“A France where our Jewish fellow citizens are afraid is not France. A France where French people are afraid because of their religion or their origin is not France,” he adds.
