Eleven Dutch supporters arrested in Marseille

Eleven Dutch supporters were arrested this Wednesday morning in Marseille, on the sidelines of the Europa League match between Olympique de Marseille and Ajax Amsterdam which will be played this Thursday (9 p.m.). “Eleven Dutch nationals were arrested as part of the security measures put in place for this match,” announced the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters.

Checks are being carried out in Marseille while “there is a risk that supporters will come and commit violence”, explains PP13, and the authorities have banned the travel of Ajax Amsterdam supporters because of these risks. “On the occasion of the match between OM and Ajax Amsterdam on Thursday November 30, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. at the Vélodrome stadium, the travel of any Ajax supporter to Marseille is prohibited. Failure to comply with this ban is punishable by 6 months in prison and a fine of up to 30,000 euros,” the police headquarters communicated on social networks on Tuesday.
