Einbeck: Unknown throws ten-year-olds over bridge railings – politics

Because of an attack on a ten-year-old Ukrainian boy in Einbeck (Northeim district), the public prosecutor’s office has initiated investigations into attempted manslaughter against an unknown man. The man is said to have thrown the boy over a bridge railing and injured it, the authorities said. The public prosecutor sees the attack, which took place last Saturday, as politically motivated.

The boy stayed with several other children from Ukraine at the bridge in the small town in Lower Saxony. The stranger is said to have complained in Russian that the children spoke Ukrainian. He allegedly asked her to speak Russian. According to the investigation, the man is also said to have said “that Ukraine started the war”.

As the officials further announced, the man is said to have initially pulled the hair of a girl from the group. Then he is said to have grabbed the ten-year-old boy and thrown him over the bridge railing. The boy hit the iron girders mounted below the railing at the height of the bridge. The child was injured in the head and foot. After that the boy fell between the iron girders into a canal. When the ten-year-old was lying there, the perpetrator is said to have thrown a glass bottle at him. She hit the boy on the right shoulder. Then the man fled.

The children alerted their parents. The boy was not seriously injured, according to the spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. He was treated in a hospital and then released.

The police are looking for the man and are asking witnesses for information. The suspect is said to be between 40 and 45 years old and is wearing a blue T-shirt, a black cap and denim shorts. The public prosecutor’s office did not have precise information on the water depth and the height of the bridge.
