Actually, e-scooters belong on the bike path or the street. In Lower Saxony, an unknown parked the brisk scooter at a dizzy height. Again and again providers have to struggle with vandalism.

An unknown person in Hanover has chosen an unusual place to park an e-scooter: the electric scooter was hanging on the chimney of a supermarket at a height of around ten meters. For the distributor, the Berlin company Tier, this is another case of vandalism. “One of our employees has already taken the e-scooter off the roof again,” said a spokesman when asked by the DPA.

The spokesman did not elaborate on how often e-scooters are parked in unusual places – also in order not to encourage imitators. “When it comes to vandalism, we don’t show any mercy,” emphasizes the spokesman. “We support the local authorities in every respect and support it when the police and public order office crack down on cases of vandalism.” Damage to property is not a trivial offense.

Prohibited zones for e-scooters

According to the company, it is active in over 100 cities nationwide and currently has around 76,000 e-scooters on the streets. “The number of cases of vandalism varies greatly from region to region, so no nationwide statement can be made,” said the spokesman. Measures have been taken to prevent it. “In each city, we have set up specific no-go zones in our app where users cannot end their rental. These no-go zones are in parks and near bodies of water, for example.”
