District of Munich: ÖDP nominates candidates – District of Munich

After the CSU, SPD, Greens, Free Voters and FDP, the ÖDP in the district of Munich has also put forward its candidates for the state and district elections next autumn. At a meeting in Ottobrunn, the members nominated the district councilor Karin Schuster as a candidate for the state parliament in the constituency Munich-Land Süd and the ÖDP local chairman of Ottobrunn and Neubiberg, Werner Wolf, as a candidate for the district parliament. Sebastian Riedelbauch was chosen as a candidate for the state parliament and Jolanta Wrobel as a candidate for the district council for the constituency Munich-Land Nord.

Karin Schuster, mother of two children and a member of the district council for almost three years, says that education policy is of particular concern. University teacher Werner Wolf also sees the integration of ecology, economy and social balance as a priority for politics. Sebastian Riedelbauch, who has been a municipal councilor in Oberschleißheim for many years and has only been a member of the ÖDP since November 2021 after leaving the SPD, already has an idea for his first motion in the state parliament: “All official cars of the state government and ministries will be abolished. It must be driven in public , that’s the only way to get change,” he demanded when he was nominated.

Jolanta Wrobel, culture officer for the city of Unterschleißheim and since 2020 for the ÖDP in the district council, wants to give culture more weight in the district council. Wrobel complains that culture is only given a fraction of the funding in the district budget. “I think the preservation of tradition in Upper Bavaria is too important to deal with the topic only marginally and with little financial means.”

ÖDP district chairman Yannick Rouault is satisfied with the choice of candidates: “For the 2023 election year, we have set up a strong team that already has a lot of experience in political work. Together with the Bavarian-wide increase in members in recent years and the new, With the dedicated state board around Agnes Becker and Tobias Ruff, I am confident that we can significantly improve the results of the last state and district elections.” The ÖDP received a good one percent of the votes in the Munich district in the 2018 state elections.
