Jonathan Milan dominates the sprints at the Giro. On the 13th stage, the Italian took his third victory in the 107th edition of the tour. The German professional cyclist Bauhaus narrowly fails again.

Professional cyclist Jonathan Milan once again made a big impression at the 107th Giro d’Italia. The Italian impressively took his third victory in this year’s Tour of Italy on the 13th stage. The German Phil Bauhaus finished third and once again missed his first day’s victory in a Grand Tour.

Milan crossed the finish line on the flat 179 kilometers between Riccione and Cento after a mass sprint ahead of Poland’s Stanisław Aniolkowski and Bauhaus.

“He’s so strong. When he sprints so perfectly, it’s almost impossible to beat him,” said Bauhaus. “I’m happy with third place,” he added. The Bocholt Bauhaus had already taken third place in the mass sprint on the fourth stage and was losing out to Milan.

No changes in the overall standings

20 kilometers from the finish, around ten riders were involved in a crash, but it ended lightly for the professionals. Nothing changed in the overall standings. The dominant superstar Tadej Pogacar is still comfortably ahead of the Colombian Daniel Felipe Martinez, the captain of the German team Bora-hansgrohe. The Briton Geraint Thomas is in third place.

The second individual time trial of the Tour of Italy is scheduled for the professionals on Saturday. In the fight against the clock, 31.2 kilometers await you on the 14th section between Castiglione delle Stiviere and Desenzano on Lake Garda. The queen stage between Manerba and the almost 2,400 meter high finish in Livigno follows on Sunday. The professionals face a challenging 5,400 meters in altitude. The Giro ends on May 26th in Rome.
