There has been no shortage of celebrity drama this year with stars voicing their grievances through diss tracks, social media swipes and even their memoirs.
While 2023 may be coming to an end the dust has yet to settle on some of the biggest blow ups of the last 12 months.
From the Kardashian family feuds to This Morning’s golden couple Holly and Phil breaking apart, formerly solid partnerships have crumbled.
Now MailOnline takes a look back at the 10 messiest celebrity spats of the year.
1. Taylor Swift vs Kim Kardashian

Things were friendly in 2015, when Taylor presented Kanye West with the Vangard Award at the VMAs but things broke down again when he rapped about her in his 2016 hit Famous
While it’s no secret that there’s no blood lost between Taylor and Kanye West, the singer dredged up her feud with his ex-wife this month when she accused Kim of ‘taking her down psychologically’.
The singer, 33, dished on the dispute when she was named TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year, looking back on the spat when Kim’s then-husband Kanye wrote a 2016 song including vulgar lyrics about her.
Kanye claimed Taylor had consented to the reference but, after denying it, Kim also weighed in and released what the popstar described as ‘an illegally recorded phone call’ between the pair which she claimed proved otherwise.
Discussing the aftermath and the brutal toll that it took on her wellbeing, Taylor told the outlet: ‘You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.’
‘That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls.’
Although she didn’t elaborate on where she moved to, Taylor began dating British actor Joe Alwyn in late 2016, and it was widely rumored that she had rented a home in London in order to spend more time with him.
During that period, she all but vanished from the public eye, something that she says came as a result of the fallout.
‘I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.’
Most of the pop icon’s next album Reputation, released in 2017, was aimed at her experience during the ordeal.
But the abundance of snake imagery used in veiled reference to mother-of-four Kim, now 43, only reignited the furor.
‘I thought that moment of backlash was going to define me negatively for the rest of my life,’ she explained.
She took another swing at the pair and anyone else who she believes has tried to stifle her success, remarking: ‘Trash takes itself out every single time.

One of the most shocking moments from this year’s I’m A Celebrity didn’t occur during a Bushtucker Trial but in the camp.
Many had expected Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn Spears or controversial MP Nigel Farage to cause the most drama, but it was YouTuber Nella Rose and First Dates star Fred Sirieix that had the first row.
Fred and Nella’s relationship became strained after he remarked ‘I could be your dad’ during a conversation about their age difference, which promoted a negative reaction from Nella, who lost her father in 2020.
While discussing Fred’s comment, Nella explained to the food connoisseur: ‘To me, I don’t care how you said it, to me, that’s disrespectful, and I don’t want to talk to you. I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to be around you.
‘I only allow people to disrespect me once. Don’t bring up my dead parent, are you stupid? “You know I could be your dad right?” You’re a weirdo.’
Following their disagreement, Nella and Fred made amends while competing in one of the show’s challenges.
But their fallout sparked a debate among viewers, with some believing that Nella overreacted and others sympathetic for the terrible loss she has suffered.
Nella has lost both her parents, her father Paul Hollela passed away in 2020 after contracting coronavirus and her mother Eseho Omolongo died of a stroke in 2016.
The social media star later revealed her side of the story, explaining that ‘it was a big fat misunderstanding.’
She added: ‘We’ve gone over it, everything is cool, everything is blessed. I don’t know why everyone’s still crying about it.’
‘In the Jungle, everything is intensified. That subject [parents] is very triggering for me because its a fresh wound but everything in the Jungle is intense.’

Joined by close friends Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye, Hailey was accused of referencing a set of unflattering paparazzi photos featuring a bikini-clad Selena as the friends lip synched: ‘I’m not saying she deserves it, but God’s timing is always right!’
The post was swiftly deleted, but the negative reaction it inevitably prompted led to Hailey insisting her poorly timed video had nothing to do with her love rival.
‘I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girls’ night and did a random TikTok sound for fun,’ she assured disgruntled followers. ‘It’s not directed at anyone.’
However, fans then accused Kylie Jenner of mocking another Selena post, after the Disney Channel star admitted she had ‘accidentally laminated’ her brows too much.
Taking to Instagram, Kylie adopted a similar pose with the same arched eyebrows and the accompanying caption: ‘This was an accident ?????’
She then added even more fuel to the fire by sharing a FaceTime call with Hailey – during which they both zoomed in on their eyebrows.
The uproar resulted in Kylie losing half a million social media followers, while Hailey’s following went down by close to a million in total.
Conversely, Selena saw her followers increase by 10 million as a result of the online trolling accusations aimed at the pair.
Hailey later hit back at feud accusations, calling it a ‘vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted, and perpetuated narratives.’

Justin immediately came under fire from Britney fans as her book blew a hole in the narrative surrounding their split in 2002, which saw Britney widely vilified in the wake of reports accusing her of cheating on the singer.
Justin’s career soared after their breakup, with albums and songs promoted under the narrative that Britney broke his heart.
In the music video for his 2002 hit Cry Me A River, he even used a Britney lookalike.

Only two weeks after Lisa Marie’s death, Priscilla filed a legal challenge to her daughter’s will – which had taken control of her wealthy Promenade Trust away from her.
Priscilla contested a 2016 amendment removing her as co-trustee and naming Lisa’s daughter Riley and her late brother Benjamin instead.
In a recently-signed settlement Priscilla agreed – in exchange for $1.4 million plus an undisclosed sum for ten years – to relinquish control of her late daughter’s Promenade Trust, leaving Riley, star of TV’s Daisy Jones and the Six, as sole trustee.
In September, Riley said she and her grandmother’s relationship experienced ‘a bit of upheaval’ while they battled over the will.
She confessed: ‘There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was. Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all (Priscilla) wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy.’
Riley added ‘things with Grandma will be happy’ now that ‘clarity has been had,’ noting that she and Priscilla had ‘never not been happy’.
She added about the fallout from Lisa Marie’s death: ‘Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated.
‘We are a family, but there’s also a huge business side of our family.’
After a months-long dispute, Riley agreed to give her grandma $1 million to become the sole trustee, as well as $400,000 to cover legal fees.
Riley said: ‘I did feel like there was a choice in front of me to give up and let this event take me out or have the courage to work through it.
‘I started trying to move through it and not let it take me out.’
In June, Priscilla said Elvis and Lisa Marie would approve of the final settlement, stating: ‘My daughter’s passing was both devastating and heartbreaking. We have learned that the fans realize that we are “Just a Family”.

It was claimed Phillip had reached out to her in the aftermath but a source said: ‘Phil is really sad still. They are not friends and it’s very, very unlikely they ever will be ever again.
‘Holly went out there publicly and said that Phil had lied to her about his affair with the young runner and then privately was texting him.
‘She messaged him because she was really upset and concerned at people criticising him, at the same time she was going back on television.
‘It hasn’t been the same for her since. She vowed to guide the show through the choppy waters but in the end it sadly turned out to be too much.’

Georges Berthonneau also hit out at ‘rodent’ Erica and her husband Jordan in a Q&A after they claimed that Georges and Peggy Lawrence’s relationship was fake in an interview.
