Unter Berufung auf seine Regeln und Werte hat der Eurovision Song Contest Russland von der diesjährigen Veranstaltung ausgeschlossen, weil seine Teilnahme dem Wettbewerb „Verruf“ bringen könnte.

Die European Broadcasting Union, die den internationalen Musikwettbewerb organisiert, sagte, dass nach der Invasion des Landes in der Ukraine in dieser Woche „kein russischer Act an dem Wettbewerb teilnehmen wird“. Die Europäische Rundfunkunion wird Russland nach der militärischen Invasion des Landes in der Ukraine die Teilnahme am diesjährigen Eurovision Song Contest verbieten.

In einem am Freitag veröffentlichte Erklärungsagte die Organisation, ihre Entscheidung basiere auf Bedenken, dass „die Aufnahme eines russischen Beitrags in den diesjährigen Wettbewerb den Wettbewerb in Verruf bringen würde“.

„Wir setzen uns weiterhin dafür ein, die Werte eines kulturellen Wettbewerbs zu schützen, der den internationalen Austausch und die internationale Verständigung fördert“, heißt es in der Erklärung weiter.

Die Gewinnerbilder wurden in der sechsten Ausgabe des Red Bull Illume Image Quest Fotowettbewerbs bekannt gegeben. Der Wettbewerb lud Fotografen ein, Bilder aus der Welt des Action- und Abenteuersports in einer von 10 Kategorien einzureichen, darunter Energy, Playground und Raw. In diesem Jahr erhielt der Wettbewerb 41.447 Einreichungen von Fotografen aus der ganzen Welt. The Natural Landscape Photography Awards has revealed its 2021 winners, with each entrant adhering to strict rules on photoshopping and editing so that viewers ‘would not feel deceived by the end result if they were to see that original scene themselves’.

A stunning photograph of a western lowland gorilla walking through a cloud of butterflies in the Central African Republic has taken the grand prize in a renowned photography competition.
