The captain is fit in time for the match in Stockholm (6.30 p.m. / Magentasport), as the German Basketball Association announced. Schröder twisted his ankle at the Supercup in Hamburg last Friday and therefore did not fly with the team to Sweden on Sunday to be treated in Germany. He only joined the team on Wednesday.
Germany leads Intermediate Group J with 5-1 victories after the first group stage. The Swedes have a record of 2:4 victories. The top three teams qualify for the 2023 World Cup in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
For the team of national coach Gordon Herbert it is the penultimate game before the European Championship with a preliminary round in Cologne and the final round in Berlin (September 1st to 18th). The World Cup qualifier against Slovenia with superstar Luka Doncic in Munich is still on Sunday. At the start of the European Championship, Germany meets France on September 1st.
