Cyclist encounters meter-long python

A cyclist had an unusual encounter on Sunday around 1:30 p.m. on the Chemin du Prat-Long cycle path, in the Minimes district of Toulouse. He came across a snake, which he found so abnormally long that he called the fire brigade. And indeed, it was not a native reptile but a “one meter long python”, according to the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis).

The firefighters, whose station was nearby, captured the animal gently, “without injury”, and entrusted it to the good care of the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (ENVT).

Already, on October 3, a resident of the Saint-Michel district had the unpleasant surprise of finding a runaway python in his toilet bowl in the middle of the night.
