A senior citizen from Essen suddenly collapses. Her granddaughter is said to have given the 79-year-old a milkshake with an overdose of sedatives. The accusation: attempted murder.

After a suspected assassination attempt on her grandmother, a woman has to go Woman from Essen to be held accountable in court. The 31-year-old is said to have mixed an overdose of sedatives into a milkshake for her grandmother in July 2023 in order to get her inheritance. The 79-year-old collapsed in her apartment in Essen. Later there was even a temporary cardiac arrest.

According to the prosecution, the elderly woman was only saved because she was found by a nurse by chance. At the start of the trial at the Essen jury court, the defendant denied attempted murder. She just wanted her grandma to “sleep a little” so she could then steal from her.

The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the 79-year-old defendant had previously mixed an overdose of sedatives into a drink. She denies this. The charges are attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
