After the fatal shooting in the center of Bielefeld, many questions remain unanswered – including whether the perpetrator or perpetrators are still on the run.
After the death of a 38-year-old by gunfire in Bielefeld investigations continue today. Early in the morning, the police did not comment on the question of whether the perpetrator or perpetrators were still at large. The public prosecutor’s office and the police jointly announced late in the evening that the perpetrator or perpetrators were on the run. It was still unclear whether the shots were fired by one or more perpetrators.
The dead man was a man from Bielefeld with Kosovar citizenship. When asked, the police said he died from his injuries at the scene. According to initial findings, the 38-year-old was on Obernstrasse near Klasingstrasse when the perpetrator or perpetrators approached him and shot him.
Further details and background information, particularly regarding a possible motive, were initially not known.
