Philips provides us with the 65OLED808 4K OLED television with a 65 inch diagonal (165 cm) a perfect end to our Advent calendar competition. The device has pretty much everything you would hope for from a modern TV. The 4K OLED display has a classic resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and can achieve a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The OLED808 is therefore also ideally equipped for PC and console gaming. But even if you don’t play anything on the TV, you will have great fun watching TV, films, series and streaming.
The OLED panel is not only able to reproduce perfect black and seemingly infinite contrasts, the color reproduction is also at a very high level. The Philips 65OLED808 is powered by the P5 Intelligent Picture Engine with AI, Perfect Natual Motion, Micro Dimming Perfect, IMAX-Enhanced and much more. 4K video signals are interpreted perfectly, whether with HLG, HDR10, Dolby Vision or HDR10+. But what distinguishes the device from, say, an OLED from LG?
The answer to this question is probably “Ambilight”. The 3-sided Ambilight, which has been improved again this year (Aurora), not only expands the image impression, but also helps the eyes not tire so quickly during longer series and film sessions. In addition, the indirect light behind the Philips OLED TV can improve image perception. This means that black actually appears black and not gray in video sources that may not be in HDR.
Then we would have a 70 watt (RMS) sound system, Dolby Atmos, support for DTS codecs including DTS:X, four HDMI ports (2x HDMI 2.1), a triple tuner and of course countless other features and programs that are available the Google TV operating system is available.
