Coinbase Launches Spot Crypto Trading for Institutional Investors Outside the United States

Coinbase, a US-based cryptocurrency exchange company Announced that international institutional investors on Coinbase International Exchange will be able to trade Bitcoin and Ether with USD Coin starting December 14th

In an announcement on December 13, Coinbase saidInstitutional clients outside the US will be able to trade Bitcoin and Ether, with the service launching on December 14 and later expanding to additional retail investors. More tokens will be supported in the future and will have “features to enable new trading strategies and optimize capital efficiency.”

“We are aware of the reluctance of some issuers and members of the crypto community to engage with US exchanges. due to the uncertain regulatory environment in the United States,” Coinbase said.

Coinbases faced a lawsuit from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in June. The company was accused of operating as a stock exchange, an unregistered broker.

Coinbase launches international exchange in May It starts with trading BTC and ETH perpetual futures for institutional investors. And in September it announced it would expand the same service to retail investors.
