Nouripour calls for a ban on the Islamist demonstration on Saturday
The group Muslim Interaktiv has announced another demonstration in Hamburg – Omid Nouripour is calling for a ban. “The group that is carrying out these caliphate demonstrations in particular must be banned,” said the co-federal chairman of the Greens.
Dhe co-federal leader of the Green Party, Omid Nouripour, has called for a ban on the Islamist demonstration announced for Saturday in Hamburg and the organizer Muslim Interaktiv. Nouripour said in the podcast of “Bild” deputy boss Paul Ronzheimer: “The group that is doing these caliphate demonstrations in particular must be banned. And to be honest, I don’t have an answer as to why it hasn’t happened yet.” Club bans aren’t that complicated.
The group Muslim Interaktiv, which is classified as extremist, has again called for a rally on Steindamm on Saturday. The demonstration was directed “against censorship and the dictates of opinion,” said the announcement distributed on X. The police confirmed a corresponding registration on Monday, which was being examined by the assembly authority.
Around 1,000 people took to the streets at a demonstration at the end of April. Signs read, among other things, the slogan “Caliphate is the solution”.
Anyone who calls for a caliphate is rejecting the democratic, free basic order, said Nouripour in the podcast. “That is also a reason why not only the demonstration should be banned, but also the organization that wants it.” He can only hope that this happens quickly. Such slogans “clearly constitute the criminal offense of sedition.” The Green co-leader added: “Personally, I can’t stand these demos.”
Nouripour called for more vigorous action against Islamists in Germany. To do this, the regulatory authorities and the police would have to be increased in terms of personnel. There is a lack of personnel everywhere for consistent law enforcement. Criminal law includes all possible punishments, including prison sentences.
“And if the people are German citizens, then they are in prison. But if you are not a German citizen, there is also a rule in the criminal code that if you pass a certain sentence, people will of course be dealt with under immigration law. Means: leave the country.”
