A high-end butcher shop, located in the 8th arrondissement, paid the price on Tuesday. After an unannounced visit by the services of the departmental directorate for the protection of the populations of the Rhône, the “Maison Vessière” had to close shop urgently.
Nine hygiene violations or failures were noted, including the “significant presence of cockroaches and rodent droppings”. “Non-compliant foodstuffs” were also found in the preparation premises deemed “too dilapidated”.

The agents also noted that the food was not kept at the regulatory temperature, also considering that the storage or preservation conditions of the products were “poor”. They also noted the absence of a device for washing hands.
The manager will have to comply with around thirty measures to reopen the establishment. Asked by News Lyonhe considered this closure “very severe”, indicating that the authorities “wanted to make an example”.
