The Coachella festival is back. It was canceled twice due to the corona pandemic, the last time the festival took place in 2019. But this year, music fans can once again spend two weekends dancing to the music of their favorite band in the Californian desert. Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, The Weeknd: They will all perform April 15-24, 2022 in Indio, California near Palm Springs. Tickets for this cost more than 400 euros in advance. The organizers are expecting 100,000 fans this year.
Diverse Lineup at Coachella Festival
Coachella offers a diverse line-up, many genres are represented. But the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, as the festival is called by its full name, has more to offer than music: there are also some art installations to see every year. This time, for example, there is a huge dog that is planted all over with green plants. And it invites visitors to take photos for their album and, of course, for Instagram. The big Ferris wheel, which can be seen in most of the pictures in the background, is also a landmark. And of course the outfits: Stars and those who want to become stars sometimes work on the outfits they want to wear on the two festival weekends well in advance. Visitors will also find a large stand with merchandise, because: were you really there if you didn’t buy a souvenir? You also get a little refreshment. However, the water bottles are not available at the usual stands, but at small retro-look food trucks.
By the way, a mask requirement or distance rules do not apply at the festival. And that although the corona pandemic in the USA is far from over. However, proof of vaccination is not required. The organizers seem to be doing everything they can to make Coachella look the same as it did before the pandemic.
