The deer are on the loose in Rhineland-Palatinate: the unusually trusting animals have been roaming through Andernach for a few days. Curious photo included.
The photo that the Andernach police station published this Sunday actually looked quite funny. At a second glance, however, the viewer probably got a thought that was called: “Animal in need”. A deer sits on the ground with its legs bent. And the head of the animal can no longer be seen at all because it is covered by a huge red something that looks like a net. Clear case: someone needs help.
And the animal got that too. A fabric garden fence had become entangled in his antlers, the police said. The whole thing happened on Friday, but the officials probably did not want to withhold the curious photo from the public.
According to the announcement, the police had been called on Friday because a deer had lost its way in a garden on a main road. When they saw what was wrapped around his head, they called the hunter in charge for help.
Hunters from Andernach freed the deer from the fence
This has stunned the animal and then freed it from the fencing, it continues to be called. From the police report, it can be concluded that the deer survived the drama last Friday.
The animal is part of a group that, according to the police, has been running around the small town in the Rhineland for a few days and is keeping the district of Namedy on its toes. The animals are unusually trusting. Why they roam there is unclear.
The officials are probably excited to see what the animals will do next. Just young deer.
