The fight against global warming has long since found a permanent place in the federal budget. Rows of projects for climate protection can be found in the more than 3000-page federal budget, billions of billions of euros should pave Germany’s way to climate neutrality. There are subsidies for electric cars and trucks with “climate-friendly drives”, for research into clean flying, for phasing out coal at home or climate protection projects abroad. Part of the billions comes directly from the federal budget, another part from the “Climate and Transformation Fund” KTF. Where so much federal money flows, one is not far away: the Federal Court of Auditors.
