The exhausted citizens will have to hold out for a few more weeks, maybe a few months, then, as the virologists and economists promise in rare unity, things could finally start to pick up again. At least in Europe and the USA, it is said, the dark omicron months should then be over – replaced by a spring of new beginnings, rediscovered sociability and economic upswing. Economists expect growth rates of four percent on both sides, and the supply problems and the high price pressure, which are currently still clouding the economic sky, should gradually disappear over the course of the year.
