Chelsea: an owner as rich as Roman Abramovich approaching?

Turkish billionaire Muhsin Bayrak would now be on pole for the takeover of Chelsea.

This week, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was forced to put the Chelsea club up for sale for around 3.6 billion euros. For the moment the process is still at the stage of submitting offers, and one of them would come from the American billionaire Todd Boehly, owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, associated with the Swiss Hansjoerg Wyss. An offer competed this Friday by the Turkish Muhsin Bayrak, who formalized his interest in the takeover of the London club. “We can absolutely confirm our offer for Chelsea and we have passed it on”said Seda Bayrak, managing director of AB Grup Holding owned by Muhsin Bayrak.

A very influential billionaire in Turkey, Muhsin Bayrak made his fortune in the fields of construction, energy and technology. Today, he would be at the head of an empire estimated at 11 billion dollars, slightly less than the 12.4 billion personal fortune of Roman Abramovich. It remains to be seen whether Muhsin Bayrak intends to pump as much money into Chelsea as his predecessor, if he collects the keys to the truck.
