King Charles thanked the public for their support in his first statement after his cancer diagnosis. The 75-year-old monarch said: “As anyone affected by cancer knows, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”
The British royal family announced on Monday that Charles III. had cancer and was being treated. He had previously been hospitalized for an enlarged prostate.
Thanks from the king to organizations
In his thank you message, he wrote, according to the British broadcaster BBC: “It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped to promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations that support cancer patients and their families United Kingdom and around the world. My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and commitment has been heightened by my own experiences.”

No statement has been made by Buckingham Palace as to what type of cancer the king has. But it is not prostate cancer. The Royal did not address this in his statement either. Charles has canceled public appearances and is represented by his son William and Princess Anne. He is currently at Sandringham, an estate that serves as a retreat for the royal family. It is located in Norfolk, northeast of London.
