“Outrageous”, “unacceptable”: The violence which punctuated the Parisian demonstration of May 1st was strongly condemned this Sunday in the trade union and political world, in particular the attacks against CGT activists during the dispersal.

The central Montreuil deplored Saturday evening “21 injured including four serious”. The four people who had been hospitalized have since been discharged from the hospital.

The Paris prosecutor’s office indicated that an investigation had been opened into acts committed “against militants and a vehicle of the CGT”, for “willful violence” and “degradation”, entrusted to the Territorial Security.

In total, the processions gathered on Saturday between 106,650 demonstrators (Interior) and more than 170,000 (CGT), including between 17,000 and 25,000 in Paris. 56 people were arrested, including 46 in Paris, and six police officers were injured, including three in the capital. According to the prosecution, 54 police custody were decided on the sidelines of the demonstrations in the capital.

Political thunderclap in the Paca region… and in Paris. Prime Minister Jean Castex announced this Sunday in the JDD the withdrawal from the LREM list, led by Sophie Cluzel, in favor of that led by the outgoing LR president. An announcement not at all to the taste of the boss of the Republicans Christian Jacob who immediately clarified in a press release that Renaud Muselier “will not be able to benefit from the LR nomination”. Republicans must find a way to prevent potentially devastating line scrambling as 2022 approaches.

New death record in India receiving oxygen from around the world

India, which deplores nearly 400,000 new cases of Covid-19 and a record of deaths in 24 hours, continued to receive medical aid from abroad this Sunday, intended to relieve hospitals saturated with patients in lack of oxygen.

A cargo plane chartered by France landed in New Delhi this Sunday morning with 28 tons of medical equipment on board, including eight large-capacity oxygen generators, intended to produce medical oxygen from the air ambient for hospitals, noted AFP.
