Germany’s arrogance at the International Court of Justice is paying off – Opinion

Coolly, succinctly, almost shrugging its shoulders, the International Court of Justice in The Hague pronounced the words that came as a great relief to the federal government in Berlin: Germany was by no means brazenly violating international law by supplying arms to Israel. Germany is now not under strong suspicion of “aiding and abetting the genocide” in Gaza, as some accuse it. The court in The Hague appears objective. It makes a clear distinction between law and morality. In this case too, although it is presided over by a president who has long been a diplomat from Israel’s sworn enemy Lebanon.
