Cartel office needs new employees – economy

Andreas Mundt speaks about new tasks for his authority, about an acute shortage of personnel and about his worries that competition in the energy market is suffering.

Andreas Mundt, 61, has been with the Federal Cartel Office in Bonn since 2000, and has been President since 2009, making him the highest competition guardian in Germany. Now the lawyer, who also worked for the FDP in the 1990s, is working for the first time under a green Federal Minister of Economics, but Robert Habeck’s inaugural visit to the Rhine is still pending.
