The Bavarian cabaret artist Lisa Fitz wants after their sharply criticized statements about vaccine deaths no longer appear in the SWR comedy show “Spätschicht”. The broadcaster said so. According to the German Press Agency, cabaret artist Fitz announced that she would comment promptly and justify the step.
It is with great regret that Lisa Fitz has decided not to be part of the satirical show in the future, the broadcaster wrote in a statement. “We would have liked to have continued our very stimulating collaboration with her for many years,” said Clemens Bratzler, SWR program director for information.
Fitz spoke of 5,000 corona vaccine deaths across the EU when she appeared on the show in November. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam, these are only suspected cases. It had not been established that there was a causal relationship with the vaccination.
The number came from an EU paper by a right-wing extremist parliamentarian
In her statement, Fitz referred to a motion for a resolution that was tabled in the European Parliament. The request in question was the taz according to submitted by the far-right MEP Virginie Joron. Joron, in turn, relies on a website on which private individuals report supposed vaccination effects without a scientific examination being carried out. A fact check by the German Press Agency in mid-November also refuted Joron’s statements.
After the broadcast and criticism of the broadcaster, Südwestrundfunk decided to remove the episode of the comedy or satirical program from the ARD media library and also from all SWR platforms and channels because it was a false statement of fact. Fitz herself later regretted having spoken of 5,000 corona vaccine deaths across the EU during her controversial appearance. She had rejected the accusation of being an opponent of vaccination and a corona denier.
