BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Masterful Adeyemi show has a flaw

31st Bundesliga matchday

BVB celebrates a goal party on matchday 31. Several Borussia players got into a frenzy against VfL Wolfsburg. The notes for the game.

Dortmund – In the fight for the Bundesliga title, Borussia Dortmund didn’t let Bayern’s victory over Werder Bremen (2-1) put them under pressure. BVB beat VfL Wolfsburg 6-0 on Matchday 31 and reduced the gap to the leaders to one point. Two Dortmunders earned the grade one in the individual review by RUHR24.

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Gregor Kobel holds the zero again

Gregory Kobel: The black and yellow wall! He held the 1-0 lead in a one-on-one duel with Wimmer, who ran alone towards the BVB keeper (20th minute of the game). The Swiss flew spectacularly against Kaminski (33rd) and then kept his goal clean (88th). Grade: 2

Julian Ryerson: Solid performance of the winter entry. He set up the can opener: his cross to Adeyemi, with the help of Baku, found his teammate’s head to make it 1-0 (14′). He kept his side tight as much as possible and was allowed to call it a day early after 76 minutes of the game. Note 3

Julian Ryerson prepared the 1-0 through Karim Adeyemi.

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Mats Hummels leads young BVB team

Mats Hummels: Questions about the future leave the veteran cold! The captain led BVB to victory against VfL Wolfsburg in what may be his last season in a Borussia Dortmund jersey. He presented himself as a reliable passer and strong in tackles – for example in the 29th minute of the game when he conquered the ball against the wind and put Adeyemi in the limelight, who in turn let Bornauw stand and Haller put on the ball to make it 2-0. Out with applause in minute 63. Rating: 1.5

Niklas Sule: The most inconspicuous BVB professional that evening. He calmly downplayed his boots, but like Wolf, he was able to thank Kobel that the BVB keeper emerged victorious in a duel with Wimmer (19′): his attempt to play offside failed (20′). Note 3

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Emre Can ensures the necessary balance

Marius Wolf: The full-back started the 3-0 lead skillfully by painting, sending Brandt down, who only had to cross in front of Casteels (37th). He also tried his hand as a playmaker down the right flank as the game progressed and repeatedly got involved in the offensive – Wimmer almost penalized this in the 20th minute of the game. Grade: 2.5

Emre Can: The clearer in front of the defense ensures the necessary balance in the BVB game. He conquered the balls and put the offensive into action. Great opening of the game before the 1-0, good eye also in the 32nd minute when he cleared Brandt on the right wing, after which Malen missed the 3-0. Grade: 2

Full commitment from BVB clearer Emre Can against VfL Wolfsburg.

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Jude Bellingham gets the grade 2

Julian Brandt: The midfield strategist has finally been able to set an exclamation mark again. He was in a bad form after tearing his muscle fiber, but was able to set up three (!) goals today. Grade: 2.5

Jude Bellingham: Little involved in the first half, the coveted 19-year-old put his stamp on the game in the second half. He scored sensationally and strangely to make it 4-0 (54th): He ran across almost the entire field and finally shot powerfully from around 20 meters, the ball rolled from the top right edge of the crossbar into the bottom left goal. After Brandt’s header, the Englishman appeared in front of Casteels and hit the outside of his foot to make it 6-0. However, Adeyemi did not take advantage of his penalty (64th). Grade: 2

Shows the direction: BVB star Jude Bellingham.

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Masterful Adeyemi show has a flaw

Karim Adeyemi: Nimble, eager to play, dangerous in front of goal: the man is bursting with self-confidence! The 1.80 meter tall attacker prevailed in a header duel against Guilavogui, who was eight centimeters taller, and gave BVB the lead (14th). A little later, Bornauw only saw his hoes, Haller thanked him with the 2-0. The striker took revenge and put Adeyemi on to make it 5-0 (59′). After two stalls he wanted his first BVB hat-trick and – despite the experienced marksmen Can and Reus – took the penalty that Bellingham had won earlier, but he failed miserably from the point and shot over the middle. Substituted after 69 minutes of play. Rating: 1.5

Donyell Paint: The BVB man of the hour also scored in his seventh game in a row (37′). However, he also missed good chances (21′, 32′). Good game that ended for him after 63 minutes of play. Grade: 2.5

Scored twice against VfL Wolfsburg and shone as a preparer: Karim Adeyemi.

Sebastien Haller: One goal, one assist: BVB signed the striker from Ajax Amsterdam last summer. Nevertheless, after his cancer, the Ivorian has noticed that the BVB game is sometimes (still) too fast for him. Left the pitch after 63 minutes of play. Grade: 2.5

BVB individual criticism against VfL Wolfsburg: Youssoufa Moukoko leaves the goal

Youssoufa Moukoko: The Haller replacement came into play in the 62nd for Dortmund’s number nine. The 18-year-old had the 6-0 on the foot (80th), but Casteels reacted brilliantly. Otherwise pale. Grade: 3.5

Marco Reus: For the actual BVB captain, it is currently only enough for the bank. He was substituted on for Malen (63′). He lacks speed, which is extremely important in the Dortmund game with all its depth. His shooting technique remains unique: he forced Casteels to fly with a direct free kick. Note 3

Salih Ozcan: Worked for Hummels from the 63rd. He let Can guide him. Note 3

Giovanni Reyna: Came on for Adeyemi in the 69th. Without grade

Felix Passlack: Entered the lawn for Ryerson (76th). It could have been his last game for BVB, in the summer the homegrown Dortmund player is going to VfL Bochum on a free transfer. Without grade
