BVB: FC Barcelona missed signing from Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham is developing splendidly at BVB. Before moving to Dortmund, it was probably Barca turn – but not intense enough.
FC Barcelona missed signing Jude Bellingham a few years ago. Barca’s former scout Josep Moratalla revealed that in an interview with Esport3.
“We had Bellingham here with us before he signed in Dortmund. When I see now that Liverpool should be ready to pay 100 million euros for him, I have to laugh,” said Moratalla, who worked for the from 2016 until last summer Blaugrana was active.
“Barca brought millions in players”
Moratalla still can’t understand why Barca didn’t try harder to get Bellingham, who was still playing for Birmingham City at the time. “I never understood why we stopped doing this business,” he said.
He also sees failures like this as one of the reasons for Barca’s financial distress. “They brought in players for millions who did not have the necessary level for Barca and can no longer keep up with other clubs,” criticized Moratalla.
Bellingham, who was last associated with Liverpool FC, moved instead to BVB in 2020 for 23 million euros and is already an undisputed top performer there at the age of 18.
