As Björn Beton, he was a member of the hip-hop band Fettes Brot – which split up in the summer after 31 years.
This summer you were on a farewell tour with Fettes Brot. At the last two concerts in Hamburg there were guest appearances by the Ärzte and Jan Delay – and a lot of love from the audience. Did you have doubts about whether it was right to split up?
I couldn’t have imagined it more beautifully: the two concerts were perfect, really perfect. But for us it was more of a feeling: we’ve finally done it. We knew this day would come. And were so focused on it! Nevertheless, it was of course totally emotional: When the people sang “You’ll never walk alone” at the end, we cried and had goosebumps. Who does not?
Did you then fall into a deep hole after more than 30 years with the band?
